iTunes 7.6 "Registry settings..drivers..importing and burning CDs missing

iTunes upgraded itself to 7.6 today and has, once again, crashed my iTunes. The last three updates have caused errors that have had me reinstalling every time. This stinks! Now I'm receiving the error:

"The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes."

I haven't installed anything but iTunes for the last several months but every time iTunes upgrades my system starts crashing. Help!

I've had the same problem. I'm not able burn or rip now, because it's missing the drivers to Burn. I also have a problem trying to re-install the version as it tells me that I can't install the iPod Services due to "privileges" issues? What are these issues. I've never heard of this kind of crap.

I've invested tons of money into music through iTunes and use their software religiously, because I'm a musician that believes the artists deserve to be paid. But, I also believe that we shouldn't be suffering such consequences for our devotion to iTunes.

Will Apple start responding to this issue?

I have the same problem. Trying to upgrade either through "Apple Software Update" or downloading through "Apple Software Update" and then manually installing it. Still same problem with error as i try to install iTunes 7.6.2

I also have not installed any new software recently (within the last few weeks that has anything to do other CD burning software.

Has apple got a solution to this problem?
