never is a release date for software.
Hoping for one is a lesson in futility...
I usually try to steer clear of any kind of controversy on message boards, but you kind of stepped over a line with what to me seems like an attack against my intelligence and credibility. So I offer to you the following quotes from various Apple press releases posted on their own web site:
"January 6, 2004— ... iLife ‘04 will be available on January 16 for a suggested retail price of $49..."
"June 21, 2004—Apple® today announced Apple Remote Desktop™ 2 ... will be available in July"
"April 12, 2005—Apple® today announced that Mac OS® X version 10.4 “Tiger” will go on sale Friday, April 29, beginning at 6:00 p.m..."
"October 16, 2007—Apple® today announced that Mac OS® X Leopard will go on sale Friday, October 26 at 6:00 p.m..."
I won't list others I found. I'll give you "rarely" and I'll acknowledge that they do seem to reserve date announcements for major OS updates (and even then they are short notice), but don't tell me Apple "never" announces dates for software and imply that I don't know Apple after 20 years of faithfully purchasing their products! Discussion boards are meant to be helpful and are no place for personal attacks against people you don't even know. Sadly, with this post, I've stooped to your level.
That being said, I took the liberty of reading some of your other posts and overall, you appear to be a very helpful member of the discussion boards, so I'm going to just assume you were "in a mood" or something when you posted this one.
