Naked iphone screen???

I am thinking about going naked and not using a protective layer on my iphone screen. I am tired of air bubbles, having to replace the protective layer every few weeks, and the decrease in screen clarity. I plan on still using a case to protect the rest of the iphone. My questions are: How scratch resistant is the iphone screen? Will the screen scratch easily if I have my iphone and a set of keys in the same pocket? What about scratches from normal touch screen use with my finger? Am I taking a gamble by not using a screen protector? I appreciate any help.

The screen is very scratch resistant. I've had mine in use without a screen protector or case since August with no issues at all. I would suggest a little common sense and thought as to how you handle your iPhone though. Perhaps simply putting the phone on your other pocket rather than the one containing your keys might be a good idea just as a precaution. A little forethought will go a long way in protecting your investment.

I got my phone for Christmas. My wife didn't get me any accesories. The day after Christmas I put my phone in the pocket designed for phones in my carpenter jeans. (no I'm not a carpenter so there were no nails in it) I noticed I had gotten a scratch. By the end of the day I got another one in near the same place. I felt around in the pocket, and nothing. I took the phone back and exchanged it. I also got a protector

Got the Crystal iPhone cover at a mall kiosk, the salesgirl put it on, came with a life time warranty, I paid $28.00. It covers the whole phone except the silver at the very top and bottom. There are no bubbles, and the screen is absolutely clear. My friend had to have his replaced because there were some areas where it lifted a bit, and it cost him $10.00 to replace. A wonderful investment if you are as picky as I am about appearance.

I would recommend using the Power support anti-glare film set sold at the apple store. I have had it on since I got the iphone (I got the iphone on christmas) and there are absolutely no bubbles and you can hardly tell its there. It also make the phone easier to use in bright areas and reduces smudges. It also doesnt start to peel up at the corners like other brands of screen protectors ive used on past phones. My brother also got an iphone for chirstmas and his already has quite a few large scrathes. I think the $15 bucks it worth it to protect a $400 phone.
