How can I export Outlook 2007 contacts to Leopard Address Book application?

I don't know about Outlook 2007, but all you have to find out is if there's a way to save your contacts in vcard format (.vcf). These can be imported into Address Book with drag & drop.

you could try different solutions:
1) use thunderbird as a go between, import the data from outlook to thunderbird
2) export from thunderbird as a format readable by ab
3) bring that export to your mac, then in ab, go to file>import and import.

I don't know if doing it with single vcards is the way you want to have it. This can be a quite big task when having many contacts.

In Outlook You can export them as text file. You got to +File - Import and Export+. In the assistent you choose "Export to file". Then you choose "comma seperated (Windows)" In the next step you mark your Contacts folder. Then you choose where you want to save your output file. (I mountet my Documents folder on the mac and saved it there). Finish this assistent.

Now on the mac you open AdressBook. +File - Import - text+ file and choose then your .csv file. Now in the AdressBook a import window opens where you can set all the fields matching to where Outlook stored the information. But basicly it should work without doing there something. Then you can import all Your Outlook contacts in one run.

Now, do you know how to do the same with outlook "Groups" in the address book? They didn't export like the individual contacts.

I am having a similar issue, except that i backed up my outlook files (not Outlook express) to an external hard drive and they are in pst (Is that right?) format. I don't have Entourage, but have Mail. I was hoping not to have to buy MS Office for Mac, but maybe I do really need it. I haven't explored I Mail completely and it doesn't seem to be as "robust" as Outlook. Are people generally happier with a transition to Entourage vs. Mail from Outlook?

BTW, my old computer will not but, so I have to use the current exported files on the external hard drive. Still not sure if I can ever get that one critical file that didn't get backed up before it died.
