SP2 disability
Hey, I am running XP Pro SP1 on a custom built computer. It's an out of date hulk, but it works for me, however I have encountered a big problem. If I install SP2 for xp I get nothing but the BSOD. I spoke to Microsoft about this and they told me that it was a software-hardware clash due to SP2 and that I shouldn't install it. They even directed me to a program that would eliminate the request to download SP2, but all of this is beside the point. My problem/beef is with essential Internet programs such as Quicktime player making it essential for SP1 users to upgrade to SP2 in order to use their product. I have spoken to many people online and browsed forums, and I have found that my problem with SP2 is not uncommon, even among new computers. So, I am seeing it as a bit unfair to release a version of something for SP2 only and nothing that supports SP1. Thank you to all who might read this and if you have any ideas for me then please comment/respond.
