Your getting a verification error (0x80020063). No sure why you would get that, but one possibility is the string: "Requested burn speed was 47x, actual burn speed is 8x." Looks like you are requesting a burn speed that your drive doesn't support. Try selecting a slower speed, like 2x or 4x and see if that helps.
Even if your drive supports some ridiculously fast speed, doesn't mean that the media will be able to take it. Using a slower speed when you have burn issues should help with that. Not all media is created equal. Good luck...

I've been noticing this same problem since around the 25th of January. I originally thought it might be cheap discs but i just broke open a new pack today of DVD's that I'd not had any trouble with before and got the same error on the very first burn.

verification error (0x80020063)

Now, I'm wondering if there simply isn't an issue with the verification process.

I have the same problem.

I'm using an Intel Core 2 Duo iMac with Leopard 10.5.2 and I cannot burn data DVDs. Well, technically they do get burned, but the discs cannot be verified and I get the following error message when they're ejected:

+This disc could not be verified and might be unreliable. Try again, using a new, blank disk. (Error code 0x80020063)+

I have tried on both Philips and Sony DVD-R, at different speeds. Anyone knows what could be causing the problem and what the solution might be?

Thanks in advance.

I also had the exact problem, and ran across this thread while searching for a solution. After running through a 25 pack of DVD-Rs, I finally found a fix: Run the Disk utility and repait permissions on your hard disk. I also ran Cocktail and that did not fix it. After repairing permissions using Disk Utility, I've burned 5 successful discs in a row.
