URGENT! Can you legally trade iPods with another person?

Say you had an iPod Video (30 GB) and someone offers to trade an iPod Classic (80 GB) that they own with you because they don't need the space. Can you legally trade iPods with them?

iPod Video 30 GB, Windows XP

Yes, but you should erase all of the music and other content from each iPod first. Once you've paid for the iPod, you can do what you want with it, but this may not apply to the music and other content placed onto the iPod.
