Screensaver Frozen

Hi.
Last night at about 1:30 am GMT i went to bed and left my mac on screensaver. this morning i woke up and the display wont change from the screensaver. iv tried everything. the weird thing is, the mac is still responsive. i can start music using the keyboard and if i press menu on the apple remote the screen goes black for a second then goes back to the frozen screen saver. i dont want to restart the mac cos iv got a massive download going on (3gb) thats already 2gb in. anyone know what i can do?

It is what gets enabled when you select Remote Login from System Preferences/Sharing. But if you don't know what it is, you won't have it enabled anyways.

You might try to restart the Finder if the applications dialogue appears. This doesn't affect the screensaver process, but maybe it "reminds" your Mac to show you the Desktop...
Before turning off your Mac I'd also try to sleep & wake it. Maybe that will help.
