importing album cover art

Question

importing album cover art

Hello

It is a mystery to me why iTunes cannot import some album art and can others, where album covers for items as common as Abbey Road or something by Radiohead, aren't found. How do I import cover art from, say, Amazon? I see one can "copy image" from Amazon but I'm totally unclear as to how to load into iTunes. Any advice or direction would be greatly appreciated.

The reason why you can't load "Abbey Road" is because The Beatles hasn't licensed Apple to sell their music in the iTunes Store. If its not in the iTunes Store, then you can't use the Download Album Artwork feature in iTunes to find the album art. There are widgets for finding artworks on sites like Amazon. You can find them in the widget download site in "http://www.apple.com/downloads"

Hello John

There are a number of albums which I've loaded into iTunes from a CD and the cover art cannot be found but the album is for sale in the iTunes store complete with cover art. (Radiohead - In Rainbows or Hotel California, for example) I am aware of third party programs which can be purchased but was hoping for a "copy and paste" type of solution.

If iTunes doesn't find album art automatically, it either means that your tags don't match theirs exactly, or there's an error in their database. When that happens, just Get Info on the songs you want to add album art to, and drag any JPEG (some other formats work as well) to the blank Album Art panel. You can find album art online at Amazon, Wikipedia, or just via a Google Images search.

You can copy and paste album arts. If you find a source that can provide you with artworks then yeah sure. Barnes and Noble or Amazon have album artworks. You can copy and paste them on the artwork area in iTunes. Maybe I don't fully understand what is it that you want to do. If I didn't understand please forgive me and explain in more detail.

this is the answer I was hoping for but when I drag the image over the "No Artwork Available" blank Album Art panel, on the Summary page, first page of the Get Info box, the jpeg will not load. The Artwork tag is grayed out as well.

First you have to click on the Artwork tab in Get Info. Drag the artwork there. Or press +G to Show Artwork. And you can drag it to the small window at the lower left.

Hello John

Thanks for your comments. My problem appears to be that the "Artwork" tab isn't highlighted as an option. For any of the albums without album art, the Artworks tab is grayed out and not available. I must be doing something silly. Thanks for your help.

Hmm...that is more of a bug. I think I've seen other people with the same problem here; look for threads with the subject "Album art not modifiable".

He can't add artwork because he is storing his music as .WAV files.
