Continuous play of music videos.

Playlists of just songs will play completely through all songs or shuffle if specified. Playlist of music videos will only play one video at a time. You have to start a new video after one ends. I want to set up a playlists of my favorite videos, select it and watch continuous videos on my flatscreen TV or for parties. Can appletv not do this or do I have something not set up right. No I am not streaming from my mac. The videos are all synced to the appletv. The video playlist in iTunes itself works... after one video plays the next starts in the playlist.

If appletv can't do this, any idea if the big software upgrade might add this functionality?

Any advice or suggestions appreciated. I scanned through eight pages of entries and did not find this issue. I apologize if it has already been address

Continuous video playback is not a feature of the tv.

Whether or not it will be included in the forthcoming software upgrade no-one here can tell you until it's actually released.

Well, presumably anyone who had a chance to try an AppleTV at Macworld might be able to answer the question, since they were showing Take Two to the public, not under NDA. I would expect that the version they were showing them would be feature-complete.

While many aspects of the new software version have been reported upon, this particular item has not been discussed anywhere that I can find. This seems like a pretty bad sign to me.

The good news is that the "two weeks" are just about up.

I'd agree, however we haven't had many reports here on these forums from anyone who was at macworld and I don't think such features would be high priority amongst the press, so we need to wait and see.

However I'm guessin' this feature won't be added, I even think there may be a possibility this feature is omitted in order to protect the tv from being left on playing video 24/7, but who knows and now we're getting into speculation.

It does seem like a rather glaring omission. I don't find the "avoid 24/7 use" argument very persuasive since there are fairly obvious alternate solutions (like going into pause mode every four hours) which would address the issue without totally losing a useful feature.

Whether they address this in "take two" will definitely color my view of how responsive Apple really is to user feedback, because lots of people have requested this feature. (and many more were completely surprised by its omission from the current version).
