Just to add two cents about syncing a BlackBerry, a Mac and Lotus Notes. We use Lotus Notes and its proprietary server software for our office calendaring, email, etc. I don't like it at all, but it wasn't my decision (thankfully) and it has a very robust Mac client to match its Windows client, so I have been able to use first a PowerBook and now a MacBook Pro for these past three years. I used to run Lotus Notes on the Windows side, as well as the Mac side just so I could sync my Treo through Lotus's sync software. Cumbersome, but it worked like a charm, except that it left iCal out. A year ago, several of us went to BBs and the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, as the BES can push Lotus Notes data, including calendar and email. I have used PocketMac and it is worth less than the free download from BlackBerry. I use Missing Sync, but even then all is far less than perfect. I am convinced that syncing is as much art as science. Whether you remember to turn off wireless BES syncing to the BB before syncing it with iCal and Address Book through Missing Sync seems to be the key and even then, every so often I have to do a global reset of all sync histories and overwrite the BB with iCal and replace Lotus Notes Contacts with vCards from Address Book. Not pretty and it certainly does not provide the total confidence that syncing should provide. But it works until iPhone syncs with BES or the Lotus Notes server. And I am not holding my breath on that one, since the word at ATT is that the new BlackBerries will sync with Outlook and Microsoft Exchange. So, the only game in town right now for Macs and BBs seems to be MarkSpace's Missing Sync. But in the final analysis, it is more than worth the hassle to be able to have fun using a Mac at work and at home.
