Hi there

I have a little problem with my safari.
Every time I enter a page like ebay, bebo... I need to type my user name & password.
In my safari settings the save passwords function is activated and it even asks me if I would like to save the password in my key chain. But when I open the same page after a refresh again, safari doesn't fill out the user name and password. I have to reenter my password manually again.

Does anyone have an Idea what the problem might be?

    See my post here.

I recommend Firefox. Seems a little ironic that Apple's built-in Webkit performs so poorly that Mac users prefer a Java app.

After installing Leopard, I had this problem with SOME of my saved passwords, but not all. In each case, I solved the problem by looking at the website and resetting the bookmark. I'm not a techie, but my guess is that Leopard is more rigorous about when and where to save passwords, and/or how to connect a saved password to a particular site.

Another option ... if you are otherwise happy with Safari, try trashing your preferences file before switching to Firefox.

    Very interesting.

I've been losing cookies off and on since Leopard/Safari 3 and it seems not only RADAR triggers it but other sites may as well; I don't know if Discussions triggers it as it also requires an Apple ID to login, but I've also seen it every so often when toggling Private Browsing on and off.

I had to give up on Safari on my G5 iMac. I used Safari for a long time but when I upgraded to Safari 3 I could never get it to remember passwords, either with keychain or on sites that say that ask to save the password for you, like My Yahoo. I had to switch to Firefox.
