A few days ago I kept getting the "accessory is not made for iPhone" message. I reset the phone and the message stopped, but now when I turn the phone off it turns itself back on in about a minute. I've done it about 20 times and it just won't stay off, has anyone else had this problem or know what to do besides resetting it? Thanks.
I had a problem a little like this as well. I just did a hard reset. Goto your home screen and press and hold the home button and the top button hold them both at the same time until the apple logo appears and then let go and that will restart your phone. Then try to turn your phone off. Hope that helps. It did for me at lease.
If a Reset doesn't resolve this, your next step is restoring from backup and if no change, restoring as a new iPhone or not from backup.
If no change after this, time to give AppleCare a call - (800) 694-7466 or make an appointment at an Apple Store to have this checked if there is one nearby.
I've had this same problem off and on for months. It is a major pain since the battery drains quickly win the phone won't stay in the standby or off modes.
I went into the genius bar once but it stopped having the problem about an hour before my appointment.
Usually when this occurs I just dock the phone and hope for the best. Sometimes it fixes itself when attached to the doc and sometimes a hard reset works, but not always. Of course, when I'm out and about I'm screwed since the phone drains quickly.
I am currently experiencing the same problem so I will try a restore at home.
The hard reset didn't work. My computers in the shop so I can't restore it for a week. Its not a big deal, I guess I never have to turn it fully off, I'd just like it fixed
