Gah Firewire HD help!

My Firewire HD was shutdown while running on an Powerbook G4 during a Kernel Panic. When I plug it into my computer, it powers up but doesn't show up on the Desktop. It shows up on System Profiler as a "unknown device". All I want to do is copy the stuff off of it and just reformat it.

First, try Disk Utility. If you can see de disk in its sidebar you can try to repair or mount it (the defective hard disk). Can you?

Oh whoops, I didn't see that while going through disk utility.
Yea it says no problems were found and re-mounted it, I think I'll back up everything and reformat it just incase.
