DVD region codes - can I make my iMac multi-region?

Hi, I have UK, US and Australian DVD's and each time the kids try to watch on the computer it asks ok to change code, and I only have one more change left. Is there a way that it can be 'unlocked'? It remembers the last region code, but then if they want to watch a different region disc, i lose one of my 'changes'

Please help, the PS and Wii wont play multi-region either, so this is the only way I can get a bit of peace from the kids!!

Thanks

KAREN

It depends on the DVD drive. With many drives, you can play DVDs with VLC, without having to set the drive region to match the DVD.

Some drives can be flashed with RPC-1 firmware. You can then change the region as many times as you want with Region X. See <http://www.rpc1.org>

Another option is to get external DVD dives for different regions.
