If I make a PDF I can't use Mail to attach it because Mail can't find it even though it's there. I click the attachment icon, navigate around to find my new PDF file and it doesn't show up in the list of files, though everything else does.
Seems like it's not updating its file list right away. Only way to attach the file is to drag it onto the message I'm writing. Very irritating, like most things OSX.
I to am looking for some help with this exact same thing except with Word files in Classic. Same kind of issue, it will not see new documents to attach unless I quit out of Mail first, then re-open and goto attach then it sees it. What kind of database file would be causing this or is it just the mail app pref/plist. This is happening on a G3/900 ibook 10.3.9. Need help, anyone please!
ok so I think my problem may be a classic issue, when I try creating a PDF from the print command in safari, it shows up in the mail attach list. The same is still not true for saving word files to the desktop, those will not appear, unless mail is quit then relaunched. So, the question is, is it a pref file regarding classic or is it something with mail itself? Someone have any idea?
this is true, but it doesn't solve the problem. my client is rather annoyed by it. I think I'm going to archive and install and see if that makes a difference. Anyone having this problem in tiger, maybe its time for an upgrade?
My wife is having the same problem; flatscreen iMac G3, OS 10.3.9
And NO, there's no workaround, because she's trying to post photos into a web template that she uses to manage a website. So it's not specific to Mail, or .pdf files. It's the Finder, apparantly. She's ready to kill.
Any workable solutions could keep this otherwise happy couple together (I mean her and her Mac).
I have the same problem. My quick solution is this: When I go to attach the file and have the attachment window open (not showing the file I want ) I click the mouse on the desktop (has to be the desktop), then it refreshes the attachment window immediately.
