How can I put contacts ONTO my SIM?

I have just bought an IPhone. I have a bluetooth integrated system in my Audi S4. This reads numbers off the SIM card of my existing phone and displays them on the dash of the car. So what I need to do is put some selected numbers onto the SIM of the IPhone. Any ideas very welcome. Thanks

I don't think that will work either Phil Wade because the problem is the iphone doesn't read anything off the sim card other than your network info to keep you on the network. I have put the sim card in another phone and stored contacts on it, so that when I switch phones my contacts will move with the card. But I haven't been able to get any bluetooth devices that read contacts off the sim card to see them while in the iphone.

You should submit feedback to apple about this. It is lame that the iphone doesn't even use the sim card really.

The iPhone itself does not use the SIM to store contacts, also because the Bluetooth support of the iPhone is so poor you can't access the SIM that way either.

What you can do is sync the iPhone to Apple Addressbook (or Outlook), and then put the SIM in an 'ordinary' mobile phone, and then transfer the contacts to that ordinary phone which will store them on the SIM. I used a Razr and Bluetooth to do this but pretty much any model of phone will work.

Thanks to all of you for your help. I will try putting contacts on the SIM via another phone and see if my Audi bluetooth can see them. Watch this space and I will let you know. Cheers.

Your Audi will not see any SIM stored contacts via Bluetooth to the iPhone. It may download the iPhone's addressbook (this works on my Bosses BMW 5 series at least). I copied (some) contacts to the SIM, because in my car, I actually take the SIM out of the iPhone and insert it in to a carphone system (and it can then read the contacts off the SIM).
