A few days ago my iPhone just went into vibrate only mode. Under the settings>sounds I see Silent at the top above the Vibrate Off/On button and then under Ring it says Vibrate, how did this happen and any idea how to get my iPhone to ring again? Thanks for any suggestions!
This is a silly question, but is the silent phone toggle switch on the iphone turned on? Look at the top left side of the phone where the toggle switch is. Do you see an orange dot? If so thats your problem toggle the switch back and that should fix the issue.

Thanks guys! Hate to be the simpleton, have had the phone since day one and no problems, but I didn't know there was a mute button (must have switched it off inadvertantly!).
I promise to soon sit down and read the manual.
Thanks for saving me a trip to the Apple Store and looking like the village idiot!
I've had the same problem. the phone stopped ringing a couple of days ago. I stumbled on a fix for broken ringtones by BigBoss (can I mention him on this site?).
Once I installed the fix all the ringtones, except the standard "Marimba", work fine.
