Items near edge of page cut off when printing

Hi,

I have a document where I set the paper to landscape. I also set the margins to zero inches. The problem is that nothing to the right of the 10.5" mark (right most 1/2 inch of the page) prints. When I select Show Layout the things that do not print appear masked. There also appears to be a 1/8" mask above the first page, to the left of all the pages, and at the bottom of the last page. I am trying to print to about 1/4" from the edge. How can I fix this?

Hi echyone,
It may not be a Pages problem but, a printer issue. Even though your printer states it will print border-less, as previously stated, that's usually reserved for graphics, pictures and the like. My printers do border-less printing as well, but not for text documents be they MS Word or Pages.

Give this a try:
1. In the Inspector set all margins to a zero.
2. In landscape mode do you see a light gray boarder around your paper? That's reserved for non printing area based on your printer.
3. Now do File > Print > Preview, (see borders?),
4. Lower left click Soft Proof, now print your file.

From the Print Help file: Select Soft Proof at the bottom-left corner of the Preview window to take your printer’s capabilities into account.

Hope this helps you.

Sincerely,
RicD

Also, why can I print 1/4" from the top, bottom, and left but only 1/2" from the right?

As you are printing in landscape mode, the right margin is the one corresponding to bottom margins in portrait mode.

For many printers, this margin is greater than the three others.
At least this aspect of your "problem" seems normal.

Okay I finally figured it out. As a work around I set the paper to 8.5 x 13. This did allow me to print to within .25 of all borders. After reading Ric's post I went to try his solution but I needed to set the paper size back to 8.5 x 11. When I went to select Letter I discovered 2 options - Letter and Borderless. If you hover the cursor over the menu item it actually displays the insets and for Letter the top, left, and right are .13, and the bottom is .47. Selecting Borderless solved the problem.
