ipod classic 80gb alarm clock doesn't work

Hello all. Anyone having problems with the alarm clock extra on the ipod classic? i tried it out and selected a playlist and the 1st time it sort of worked (song came on maybe 30 seconds into the time i set the alarm for). but then, i selected snooze and the song kept on playing. so snooze didn't seem to work.

but then i paused the song, reset the alarm for 5 minutes later, and the alarm didn't come on at all. tried several more times, but no luck.

your help is much appreciated. thanks.

No, i haven't been able to get the alarm clock to work yet. Any ideas on how to do this?

I have not had any success with the built in alarm clock. It does not matter if I choose the "beep" tone or a playlist, no sound plays when the alarm goes off. I have hooked the ipod to a set of external powered speakers for maximum wake-up-nitude, but no avail.

I have the same issue. Alarm doesn't go off whether its on beep or playlist.

thats another issue to add to my existing one, which is the search feature not functioning properly at all. apparently 1.1.1 introduced major bugs than fixing existing ones.

u know what, 2 of my issues were resolved including the alarm function, when I restored the iPod using iTunes. I guess the update 1.1.1 needs one iPod to be restored before it functions properly.

thankfully, my iTunes library is a modest 10 Gig, so it wasn't a hassle to restore and sync all the music back again!

iPod Classic alarm has never worker reliably!
"Geniuses" & phone support are clueless and disempowered to do anything about it. Apple doesn't seem to read these posts.

You must restore your iPod to version 1.1.1 then reset your iPod and leave it alone for the alarm to go off. Problem is, resetting will loose any changes you recently made to the alarm. Seems alarm will not play a song if you are on pause. Alarm is not triggering a high level interrupt and playing no matter what is going on. Maybe apple programmer think this is a "feature" that alarm won't play a song if another song is cued.

Please post feedback and tell programmers that alarm still doesn't work in v1.1.1 and we want it to fire off the player list no matter what is going on.
