downloading youtube videos with mpeg streamclip

i used to be able to download flv videos from youtube with mpeg streamclip but now when i download either it says "the filename is not valid" or "file open error: can't open the file". it also identifies the file as a com/watch file, not an flv. i know i can always use vixy.net and other online converters but i don't as they take forever to convert and d/l. so can anyone help?

In Safari, under Windows, you will see Activity. Open that window and it will show you URL's (I guess) for each aspect of the page you have open. If you have multiple pages open it will show them all. So if you do this while on Youtube, one of those url's will be for the video (most are images on the page). Also you might have to click the drop down arrow to actually see all the contents of the page. The url you want is going to be the one with the largest corresponding file size and if you stretch out the Activity window you should see the words "get video" in the link.

Once you find this url, double-click it. It will open another blank Safari window ad the download window showing the file "Get Video" being downloaded.

If you have iSquint it is fairly simple. Just drag the .flv file that you downloaded and choose the setting you want.

Hope this helps.

Well I did what you instructed, and it worked up until the iSquint part. I have iSquint already installed, so I just dragged the new file into it, and start converting to iPod. iSquint said an error occured, and this is the log that popped up:
