How do I create this chart in Numbers?

I want to create a chart with one set of values on the x axis and two sets of distinct values on the y axis (not sure if I'm using the right terminology). Furthermore, the two sets of data for the y axis are quite different in terms of value: the first set ranges from 147-1100, and the second set ranges from 4.9-6.4.

Perhaps the easiest way to describe what I want to do is show you the chart as it exists in Powerpoint. Here's a link to it:

Can it be done in Numbers? How?

It seems to me that someone used superimposed charts, but I'm not sure that applies here. However, I do have one unrelated piece of advice: Avoid using yellow text on a white background! 🙂

Hello

We may build two charts
edit one of them so that it doesn't show labels under X axis, the color would be different and the background becomes tranansparent.
Alas, I found no way to move Y axis graduations from the left edge to the right one as you did in your example.

Thanks for the advice, but that isn't my chart. That's why I'm trying to replicate it in Numbers.

After doing more research it seems that Numbers doesn't support secondary y-axes like Powerpoint does. I may just have to re-create the chart in Powerpoint, export as a PNG, and import it into my Keynote presentation. Not ideal, but I guess it will work unless someone else has a better idea (I'm all ears!)

If you are using PowerPoint, why not use Excel?

Well, I normally find Numbers much easier to use since I'm not experienced with spreadsheet apps. I also prefer the charts & graphs in Numbers - much more elegant.

But if you could give me any insight into how to create it in Excel, I'd be grateful for that too.

For most users, the two are almost identical with how one enters numbers, equations, etc. With respect to charting, Excel has more charting options. I'll post an example with Excel for you to start with.
