Unknown error exporting AVI to MP4 after upgrading to version 7.4

I am experiencing the same problem and the same error number. I just upgraded from QT 7.4 to Pro. I can convert from .avi to .mov and then to mp4 but not directly to mp4. Any ideas?

In searching this forum I have come across a fix. This seems to be an issue in Windows XP 32 and 64. I have cut and pasted the fix below. I tried it and it has resolved my problem.

I replied too soon. This fix only seems to work on smaller avi files. When I tried to convert a 400mb avi file, the same error happened after about 70% conversion. Does anybody have a suggestion?

Same problem here, after install 7.4 on 4 machines, the 4 machines are screwed to export long files. Not even going back to 7.3.1 fix the problem.

Problem is on XP32, XP64 and Vista32.

It seems that 7.4 was a really goos way to screw up everything.
