What drive did you have your iTunes program files installed on, Auslotus? The C, or something with a different drive letter?

(Checking because I've seen that one occur if iTunes was installed on an external, or other drive with a high drive letter, and the drive letter on that drive has changed ... that confuses the registry in various distressing ways.)

Nothing is working...Im lot without my ipod. I have now manually removed the all folders from both external and c drive. But still cannot "uninstall" from the control panel. I have then tried to re download but alas it is still not working. Now it wants to install in a J drive I dont have and then says it has encountered and error and will terminate the install. Will apple help those who can no longer use their product!! Ahhhh.

Okay. In that case, let's try using the Windows Installer CleanUp utility to remove the installation configuration information.

download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility:

Description of the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility

Now launch Windows Installer CleanUp ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"), find any iTunes entries in the list of programs in CleanUp, select those iTunes entries, and click “remove”.

Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC, and try another install.

If it doesn't go through, let us know what error message you get this time. (Fot example, is it now saying *Invalid drive* J?)
