I know but in the game Medal of honor hereos 2 it seems to be messing up and on the wii tech forums they said static IP would fix it

You have to set up a fixed (a.k.a "static") IP address, say 10.0.1.10, to the Wii using the DHCP screen of the AEBSn. To do this, you need to know the MAC address of the Wii, which is probably printed on the unit itself. Then you need to find out what TCP/UDP ports are used by the particular game, and then "port forward" them to that IP addtess (10.0.1.10) that you just set up as "static".

As far as I understand your question it is just "How to assign a static IP to my MAC?". Usually you do not need to do any config change on your router.
All you need to do is changing the TCP/IP config of your MAC from "DHCP" to "Manual" and you can type in any IP-Address within your Subnet.
When your router has e.g. the IP-Adress 192.168.1.1 you should be fine assigning 192.168.1.2 to your MAC. Adding the router's IP address as a DNS Server and default gateway should be fine.
Hope this was of help and I did understand your problem correct.

Don't follow any of the above, which is, unfortunately, a bunch of crap. Leave your ABSN station as a DHCP server, as it should be and it is by default, and allow IT to assign local network "static" IP addresses as explained in my previous message to your Wii, using the MAC address (Media Access Control, also known as the Ethernet address, of the form xx:yy:zz:uu:vv) listed on the back of Wii. From then on, the AEBSn will always assign the SAME IP address to the Wii. You can the "port forward" any specific ports used by individual games.

Notice that http://portforward.com/ lists the appropriate ports to "forward" for individual routers and games.

You can also set up a static IP on the wii itself. On the internet configuration screens select the manual setup and enter the IP address, etc...

It's easier to use the "reserved" address option above if you have never set this up before and you do not need to turn off DHCP to assign static IP numbers like this but you need to make sure that the number you use is outside the range of DHCP numbers if you do.

If the game is having problems because of not having a static IP then just assigning a static IP will probably not fix the problem. Find out which ports need to be forwarded as mentioned above.

Page 30 of Apple's Designing Airport Networks manual explains how to assign static IPs using "DHCP reservations." This ensures that the same IP address is always given to a specific client each time it logs onto the wireless network. Clients (e.g. your Mac, Xbox, Wii, etc.) are identified by their MAC address.

Note that older AirPort base stations do NOT support DHCP reservations--you won't see the reservations box in the AirPort Utility at all. According to Apple tech support, only 802.11n base stations do.
