LaCie 1 Terrabyte Drive Sleeping and Awakening

Hello All,

Simple question: I use a LaCie 1 terrabyte external hard drive for my capture disk. With regularity (not sure of the exact timing, but let's say 5 minutes), it goes to sleep. I then must press the space bar and wait for it to "spool up" before I can begin working.

Is this what everyone does? Can the period prior to sleep be extended?
