printing

I too am having this problem. Still trying to figure it out but at least I can still print but I hate seeing that darn crash window. Check this out. On my wife's iBook G4, she doesn't have this problem that we are having. I don't understand it. If I find something I will get back to you.

I also have this problem with my Canon Pixma 5000, Canon Selphy and my HP Photosmart Pro 9180. I would appreciate it, if someone could help me.

have you tried deleting and then re-adding the printer? Resetting the permissions with Disk Utility probably wouldn't hurt if the first step doesn't help.

I have tried that many times. I even tried deleting the printer software and driver then re-installing and then ran Disk Utility. I will try it again. Maybe 5 times the charm.

What happens when you launch the printer from //Library/Printers? If you crash here too, could you post the crash log please?

Jason, thanks for posting the crash. I am not sure what to suggest other than deleting and re-adding the printer. I'm not sure that will help since the code is crashing because of an empty string. You could send feedback to Apple or see if HP has newer driver.

So did anyone answered the question, I have the same printer ( HP-1012) and same problem, I can print but always get the message that the application PrinterProxy quit.
Where the **** is that application if I don't need it

Jason, would it be possible to mail me a copy of the Apple System Profile report from this machine please? My email is jblancha@mac.com, and if you can give me an idea, too, of how the driver was installed, whether from HP's site or the Leopard install disc, that would be helpful. Thanks.

Problem fixed if you do these steps. Try deleting the printer, then delete the hp folder at /Library/Printers. This should give you a clean system as far as HP is concerned. Then try the custom install of the HP drivers from the Leopard disc and re-add the printer.
