Cannot open Itunes

When i try to open my itunes it says:

"The file "Itunes library.itl" cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of itunes.

dunno, Windows XP Pro, its fast :D

You usually see this message when you downgrade iTunes to an earlier version, did you do that?

Any you can rebuild your library from iTunes Music Library.xml although you do not recover all the metadata:
Drag iTunes Library.itl and iTunes Music Library.xml out of your iTunes folder to your desktop.

Start iTunes and an empty library will be created. The following article tells you how to import the xml file, you will be starting from step 6.

If you don't have the xml file, you can simply add the iTunes Music folder with File>>Add folder to library, but you loose your playlists counts and ratings if you do this.
