Try getting it into DFU mode:

Step 1. Turn off your iPhone.
Step 2. Hold down the power and home button.
Step 3. When you see the Apple logo, release the power button but continue holding the home button down.
Step 4. Open iTunes and wait for it to tell you that its in restore mode.

    Hope this helps.

I tried to restore my iPhone and when i tried to put it into recovory mode the restore picture( USB and iTunes logo) apeared in the backround but at the bottom of the screen the slide for emergency apeared and now my itunes wont recognize it. it says that there is a syncing error and to disconnect and try again. I do so and the same message pops up. I think i just need to get it into recovery mode but the "slide for emergency" won't go away.
    Any Suggestions?

well i was going to say the same thing as the last comment but it does not work either way what u can also try is trun off the phone connect it to the computer with the phone off n let it turn on by itself from the computer ones it turns by itself c if itunes opens if it doesnt then open it urself n look for ur iphone click on ur phone n if it still doesnt say restore then i advise u to call apple care or support most likely they will give u a new phone if u have warranty
