I will quit itunes, then be surprised a few minutes later when the application pops up on my screen again. I have downloaded 7.6 but this problem still occurs. any help?
This problem just started on my Macbook yesterday. Also, when playing a CD in itunes, it's started freezing at the beginning of a new track. It's been running fine until now, so no idea why these problems have started. I don't have anything linked up to it, like an iphone or ipod. Any advice anyone?
I have this happening also on my Powerbook, with the latest version of iTunes, but remember happening prior also. No iPod hooked up. Sometimes it happens once a few seconds after quiting iTunes, and occasionally it will restart several times.
None in my case. I don't have any programs currently running that obviously accesses iTunes. I used to have TuneView and thought that might be the culprit, but it's no longer on my system now that I have TV.
Well iTunes is not opening itself. Some process has to be triggering iTunes to open. Open Activity Monitor (in Utilities) and look through your running processes. Maybe you'll see something in there that you thought you had uninstalled.
Hmmm, In my case you may be right! I thought I had got rid of the TuneView software, but I never bothered to check after I deleted the folder out of Applications. The TVUSB Daemon is still running and its source is /Library/Application Support/Keyspan/TVUSB. I will get rid of this and see if my problem goes away. The TVUSB Daemon should not be starting iTunes on its own... that is if it is working correctly.
If you have this problem still, you can check on your Preferences under either System or Users and see what applications open on startup. That might have something to do with it.
