Finalize an open disc!!

Discs that may require finalising are from DVD camcorders or DVD video recorders.

Find out which format the disc is; -R or +R and finalise in a DVD camcorder or DVD recorder of that format.

I just had the same problem. The solution that worked for me is: pick a small file (any) and burn it onto your un-finalized CD (I did it with Toast). That procedure finalizes it and you are then able to see/use the rest of the files that were previously inaccessible. Hope this helps.

who mentioned CD?

I presume the original poster will have a DVD disc as this is the DVD forum?
if it is a DVD disc and it has not been finalised, Toast will certainly not be able to add files to the disc
It therefore must be a DVD disc from a DVD recorder or camcorder which must be finalised in a video recorder.

if however this is indeed a CD, it wont need finalising anyway as the disc will have benn finalised either as a session or a finalised as a disc

I assumed DVD... rightly or wrongly. The notion of adding a file and burning to finalise makes sense to me.

yeh sounds a good idea - but it doesnt work!
You cant add files to an unfinalised DVD disc, the file system prevents this.
