8GB iPhone upgrade to 16 GB, possible?

Hi all, will Apple upgrade the 8GB models, for a fee of course?

Better yet, are the 8GB models upgradeable?

Is the only difference between the 8 & 16 GB models just the memory?

I'd rather pay for an upgrade vs. selling one phone just to buy another.

I'm not sure about upgrading for a fee.

I don't believe you can upgrade the hardware to make your 8GB a 16GB.

And yes it is only a memory difference between 8GB and 16GB models.

Upgrading is only possible if you bought your phone within the last 14 days --- then you can return your phone, pay a small restocking fee, and get a new one.

Yeah that is the only way. There is no way to unlock 8 more GB of memory through a software update...

Became available today, announced yesterday. If you bought it last Friday you are within your 14 day exchange window, but I wouldn't dawdle.

I haven't seen any size or differences. The 16GB was released today so if you'd like one you can return your 8GB within 14 days of purchase plus a 10% restocking fee and purchase a new 16GB model.
