Can we safely delete the file console.log

Question

Can we safely delete the file console.log

We have a Grape iMac 333 with a 6GB hard drive that is used for a few office tasks. OS X 10 takes up a lot of room so we are getting messages to make more space on the hard drive. While we have paired down quite a bit we still would like to find more space. Can we safely delete the file Library/Logs/Console/User/console.log without undue problems cropping up?

I wouldn't delete the current console.log, only because it can be handy to have. It's where any diagnostic messages go, and I'm not sure what would happen if you deleted it out from under the OS. If it's getting really big, just reboot the computer. It looks like when you reboot, the old console.log is rotated to console.log.0, and console.log.0 to console.log.1, and so on. You can certainly safely delete any of the console.log files ending with numbers. They're just old logs. I have 10 of them on my PowerBook dating back to March, but only one is over 1MB in size...
