Is there a way to Hide End Call Button?

I am constantly accidentally hitting the end call button while talking. Is there anyway to hide this besides moving to the phone number pad?

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.5.1), IPhone

icplano,

Is your iPhone in a case that covers the proximity sensor? If not, the iPhone should disable the screen, go dark, and hide the buttons when it is close to your face.

The proximity sensor is near the top edge between the earpiece speaker and the top chrome EDGE, in strong light such as sunlight you can see the glass is not as dark there to allow the IR sensor to pass through.

Hope this helps,

Nathan C.

Ohhhhh, yes I use the Incase. I guess this is the problem because it only started when I started using this case. I also can't charge the phone while using this case. I wonder if I picked up the wrong case. Do they have a separate design for the Ipod Touch vs the IPhone? I have yet to find a good case for a woman to carry in her purse. Thanks for the information!! 🙂

YES! Since the iPod Touch doesn't have a phone, the Touch cases do not have the cut outs for the earpiece speaker and proximity sensor. I bet that's why your proximity sensor isn't working, and you probably can't hear your callers unless you're using headphones, since the ear speaker is covered by your case. (Although on second thought, if the sensor was covered all the time, I don't see how the screen would ever turn on?)

I am a woman who carries her iPhone in her purse 🙂 and I LOVE my iSkin Revo. It keeps my phone well protected and gives it good "grip" so it doesn't feel like it's going to slip out of my hand. I don't use the hard plastic "windshield" thingie that came with it, I just use a Power Support Crystal Film on my screen, and that works great. My phone is as perfect as the day I got it - no nicks or scratches at all.
