O2 Insurance worth it?

Just bought a 16GB iPhone and am loving it.

Just want to canvass opinion on the O2 £7.50 monthly insurance. In the light of the warranty, what have people's experiences been? Is it worth the extra cash?

I tried to claim on o2 insurance after dropping my iphone. Damage was the side of the iphone on the battery cover. Two small dents, one at the top edge the other near the black aerial cover and a pin size hole. They declined to offer any cover on this as it was declared to be cosmetic only. Rubbish.

I also tried to get it repaired myself at an Apple Store. I was quoted £150 for a replacement battery cover. What a joke.

Have you had to claim on it? If so, what has been your experience?

I've not had to put in an 02 insurance claim on my iPhone, as yet, but did have to with my SE K700i phone. They sent it off for repair and gave me a replacement for a week. Apart from the replacement being a very basic Nokia, the procedure was as smooth as you might expect it to be. No complaints on my side, apart from the inevitable inconvenience.
