Screen misalignment

had my macbook since just before christmas, and noticed a slight misalignment of the screen the instant i took it out of the box. its off by about 2 mm on the left, but flush against the side (when shut) on the right...
is this a problem?!

My screen is also misaligned. I don't recall if it was that way when I got it last summer but I noticed it when I shut my Macbook the other day after using it. It sticks out a millimeter or so on the left, and is not flush on the right (it is off by about the amount of overhang on the left). The hinge seems loose because the lid will move into the correct position when pressure is applied from the left.

I don't know what to do about this either, and it bugs me that it is not aligned properly.

Perhaps take it to the Apple Store? I've heard of loose hinges, hinges tightened to much (causing the warp you mentioned), and the case cracking because of things like this. My MacBook is my baby, and the thought of damage to it makes me sick. >_<
