iPhone won't sleep/standby

iPhone won't sleep/standby

My iPhone does not go into standby mode. When I check the usage meter, the time since last recharge is all listed under "usage" there is zero standby time and the battery is dead within 8 hours. This started in the last couple of days. Anyone know what's up?

Do you have any web apps open that continously use a connection such as stock tickers, sports scores, or IM web apps?

What steps have you tried so far?

No Web apps. Bluetooth is off. Wi-Fi is on, but "ask to join networks" is off. I haven't tried anything yet other than a restart.

Settings > General > Autolock is set at 1 minute.

Have you tried restoring in iTunes to see if that works for you?

Before you do that, a reboot may be in order: press both the sleep and home buttons together until the Apple logo appears, then let go.

OK, I took it off the charger about a half-hour ago and it seems to be back to normal. 11 minutes usage, 30 minutes standby. I'll let you know if it continues to behave.

25 hours and still behaving. Reboot seems to have solved it. Thanks all.
