Macbook Croaking/ Clicking sound

I've noticed that every couple of seconds my Macbook makes a croaking sound. It seems to be coming from behind the number keys at the top of the keyboard. The sound is only noticable when in a quiet room and either when opening the Macbook from sleep or closing the lid and putting the Macbook to sleep or while doing a light task such as word processing. I wanted to know if this sound is normal and if not where it could possibly be coming from.

On a MacBook the internal speakers are right between the keyboard and display. Probably the croaking sound is a system sound.
For a test, open up System Preferences > Sound, select "frog" from the menu (now you should hear a sound resembling a frog's croaking). Is that the sound you are hearing?

PS: Enyakiz, could you please stop writing everything in capitals? It's hard to read.

No, that's a misunderstanding. I don't mean the cd-drive. I mean the internal speakers that are located at the back of the machine right between the keyboard and the LCD hinges. What I'm saying is that you might experience a system sound like the one i described in my previous post ("frog"). The system gives audible feedback e.g. if you have clicked something that you are not supposed to click. Check System Preferences > Sound whether "frog" is the sound you hear.

I think what might be going on for you, a lot of us haven't heard for a long time. When MacBooks first came out, some had what us called a "mooing" sound. It comes from the fan, which exhausts between the speakers. I can't remember the exhaust reason the fan made this sound, but like I said, it has been a long time since we have heard of this problem.

I would call AppleCare and get a case started as soon as possible. Here in USA we have a 14-day no question ask policy to return. If there is nothing wrong with it, Apple charges 10% restocking fee. If it is defective in some way, then they should take care of you, but you still need to have Apple check it out.
Don't wait any longer. Call them immediately.

Obviously, no one here has an answer for your particular problem.
