iPhone Music through my car speakers?

I have been searching for something thats compatible with my iPhone that I can listen to my music on there in my car. Like the iTrip for iPod. Anyone know of anything, or can the same things that are being used for full sized iPods be used for the iPhone?

My Toyota has an audio AUX input to receive a standard stereo mini-jack. I just run a male/male cable from the ipod to that jack. The mini-jack's somewhat bulky plastic housing prevents it from fitting in the iPhone's recessed jack, however, without an adapter you can buy at the Apple store. (With that, any mini-jack will work. Note, this does not allow me to control the device through the car radio controls... just pipes the audio from the device to my car stereo's AUX selection.) A cassette adapter would work too, based on them just using a mini-jack connection to the device(again though, some jacks may not physically fit fully into the iPhone, because it is recessed a little---I have headphones that won't seat properly in that opening, without buying the jack adapter.)

Belkin TuneCast Auto. It's an FM transmitter and charger all in one so it uses the dock connector to do both. It also lowers the music when the phone rings and returns when you hang up, just like the headphones.

Here's the kicker- it's the only one I have seen so far that specifically says on the box "for iPhone and iPod"

It has a white "Made for iPod" logo and a new black "Works with iPhone" logo too!!

$69.00 at WalMart. I just bought mine tonight in Ohio. So far so good. Good FM transmission (as good is my 4G iPod w/iTrip on top), no noticeable phone interference yet. I like it so far.

It's only real draw back is that the transmitter part is in the cord so you can't use it on any radio, only one near a headphone jack since that's where it gets its power. It would be nice if you could use it in the house too.

I just read the bottom of the box and it says:
""Works with iPhone" means that an electronic accessory has been designed to connect specifically to iPhone and has been certified by the developer to meet Apple performance standards."

Having said that, you still have to dismiss the warning that pops up when you connect it that says "This accessory is not made to work with iPhone." It asks if you want to go into Airplane Mode. Select no and all works fine.

Good luck!

I knew I was geting the iPhone for Christmas and I wanted an FM Transmitter. I went to Best Buy and the salesperson showed me the box for the TransDock by DLO. It had an iPhone in the cradle right on the package.
I have since been using it and it's great. It's a charger with a cradle also and cost $99.
In my one car I get a little too much interference especially at Stoplights but in my little sports car I don't get any interference at all. I think you should buy one and try it. I think they all work differently in different areas and cars. If it doesn't work, bring it back.

Did you mean "near a cigarette lighter outlet" instead of "near a headphone jack"?

Also, is yours white? I want to make sure I'm looking at the right model.

Thanks,

UPDATE

SB-

I stopped at Best Buy today and bought the Griffin iTrip. $49.99. It's black, comes with a mini USB cord to charge at the same time if you want. It works great too. It does not specifically say for iPhone but it works. Mutes the iPod when a call come it and starts up again when you hang up.

And since it is small, self contained and does NOT require a cigarette lighter, it plays on any radio. The USB cord that comes with it will plug into the charger that came with the phone.

For me, I need to charge it in the car as well so I picked up a MacAlly USB-CIG $14.99 which is a cigarette lighter insert that you put your own USB cord into. Now I'm rollin'!!

I plan on returning the Belkin one only for the fact that it has to be plugged in to use it. Otherwise it's a great product.

Hope this helps you out. Take a look at both and weigh the odds.

Good luck!

With an '08 car, especially if you have GPS, then it should be bluetooth ready. My '05 Landrover didn't have it installed (now an option), but the dealer installed a bluetooth kit. It syncs and I can either dial or voice dial. There's a toggle switch on the steering column to answer/hang up calls . Conversations are all hands free thru the audio system. I abolutely love it!

If you are able to get a bluetooth, try to get one that is able to sync more than one device at a time. Mine, I found out is only one, but apparently they are available form multiple devices. I'd check your audio store (ask your dealer who the best for car audio is).
