IMPORT ADRESS BOOK FROM PALM PILOT SOFTWARE

I recently got the Ipod Touch and I'm trying to import all my contacts from my Palm Pilot. Has anyone done this before? Is it doable?

Dear ggcs29:

May I call you gg?

I recently went from a Palm Tungsten E to using the Touch as my PDA. It is working very well for me. My calendar and contacts are easily synced to my Windows system at work (and to my music and photos on my Mac at home).

You need to sync your Palm product to your Dell. Since you asked for more specificity, I will possibly err on saying too much, rather than too little.

You need to sync your Palm to Outlook on your Dell. I assume you have the Palm Desktop installed and the required conduits. If your data exists only on your Palm and not in Outlook, it probably isn't possible to move your data to the Touch.

If your Outlook data is up-to-date, make sure iTunes is installed on your system. Attach the Touch with the cable to a usb port. Select your iPod in the column on the left. Pick the Info tab on the top right and select sync with contacts in Outlook. Click "apply" at the lower right and let iTunes do its magic.

That should do it.

Good luck,

Geof
