I downloaded the update, and it appeared to go through install, i.e., got the progress bar and screen went blank, process repeated a few times...but now the screen stays blank now for about 10-15 minutes ?? Is that supposed to happen. I tried unplugging and plugging back in, but nothing happens. Is there a way to force a restore, or does this update take a long time ?

From selecting Update Now (or whatever it said) after downloading it took 10mins and a couple of seconds on a 40GB AppleTV to get to the new startup screen.

I'd give or take a few minutes depending on how full/fit/big your AppleTv drive is as I would imagine there'd be a bit of variation between machines.

Just on a funny note... I had to laugh at the number of times I saw a progress bar. Call it a pet peeve, but what's the point of having a progress bar get to the end.. just to get another progress bar?? lol This happened FOUR times! Sloppy, sloppy...

Took me about 10 minutes too though.

Yah. Same here: about 10 minutes for my AppleTV, over an 802.11g network for all four progress bars to complete.

I only counted 3 but Mrs AC distracted me in the middle of the update!

OK, maybe I miscounted... but two is one too many! But how many times did the Apple logo flash though? Had to be at least 7. I was like... "Yes, yes, I get it.. thank you Apple."

It had flashed 3 time by a minute after which I got bored counting...

Sad timing it, but what else is the iPhone stopwatch for?
