Complex/Imaginary Numbers

Hello,
It looks to me like it is impossible to deal with complex numbers in Numbers formulas. I even tried the SQRT(-1) trick, but get an error (input must be >= 0). If I am overlooking the way to use imaginary numbers it would be great if someone clued me in.

If this is still impossible - consider this my formal request to the Apple engineers to add this feature in the future versions.
Thanks All!
Owen

Hello

You are in a forum where users try to respond users.

Your "formal request" is perfectly useless here because Apple employees have no time to visit the forums.

*go to "Provide Numbers Feedback" in the "Numbers" menu*, describe what you wish.
Then, cross your fingers, and wait *at leas*t for iWork'09 😉

My guess is that treatment of complex numbers will never be added ina tool which is not designed for "scientists".
