How do I print actual size from "Preview"?

Using an Epson 1640 scanner and Epson 900 Stylus and Epson Photo R200 printers.

Scan using Image Capture. Page Setup at 100%, Print produces page filled with image rather than actual size (ex scanned business card fills 8.5x11" sheet).

Opening scanned tiff doc with Photoshop displays and prints doc at actual size.

Hi Bob

I've just discovered the identical problem when trying to print on my Epson
SP 1290 Photo from a scanned image on a Epson 1640SU. I see your post date was back in October so I wonder if you managed to resolve this issue.

I would appreciate any help

Pete

No, but I did just now presented the question to Epson because of numerous Epson printers I have. Unfortunately, Epson will probably blame it on Mac OS and I don't have non Epson printers to test. I do have old OS 9 UMAX scanner, that I've been planning to test, but it's low on my "to-do" list. I use Photoshop to open & print scanns, but that doesn't help people without PS!

Using the resolution difference reference: monitor @ 75 dpi vs scanner @ 300 dpi showed the obvious 400% size increase. But when I reset the scanner to 75 dpi (Image Capture settings), there was no size change when printed. That didn't make sense, unless another "application" is involved. Other applications such as Quicktime and Adobe Acrobat "could" be involved....

I'm hoping we just have an incorrect setting in one of the related applications and someone will help us find the tree for the forest!

If it was OS 6,7,8 or 9, I could fix it. But since OSX, I just do the easiest workaround. If you can't find an Mac OSX or Epson fix, the $30 application "Graphic Converter" is very good and may be an inexpensive fix at lemkesoft.de/en/graphcon.htm

Good luck
Bob
