transfer iphoto events to new computer

what is the best and easiest way to transfer some of my events in iphoto to my new iphoto library on my new mac book? i tried firewire transfer with migration assistant, but it said i dont have enough space available, and it wouldnt let me just pick the iphoto library. i also tried to do it through the network, but i was asked to open migration assistant on my old computer and click on transfer to another mac, which was not an option on the old computer. does anyone have any ideas?

Mac Book, Mac OS X (10.5.2)

Welcome to the Apple Discussions.

The only way to move Events between libraries is with iPhoto Library Manager.

Mind you, if you're already getting Out of Space messages, proceed with great caution. OS X needs about 10 gigs of disk space for normal operations - virtual memory and so on. Once you go below this you run the risk of apps crashing, the machine slowing down, and in extreme cases, data loss.
