Itouch keeps switching between apple logo an the low battery screen

So I was thinking about jailbreaking by itouch then i figured i didn't want to risk messing it up so i quit as ziphone was in the process of jailbreaking now my ipod is really messed up. All it does is sit on the apple logo screen and the low battery charge screen. what do i do? is it completely toast?

FWIW holding the "Sleep/Wake" and "Home" buttons resets the iPod not restores it. If the iPod was midway through being gaol-broken then I think a Restore is required as this reloads 1.1.3 onto the iPod.

Try connecting the iPod to iTunes and on the Summary tab click "Restore". Or is that what you've tried?

well i am super happy to report that my touch is back up an workin like a charm. i dont know exactly what happened but after a million hard resets and a lot of stress i got the screen to change to the one with the firewire plug on it and after one more reset my computer recognized the ipod and i started it as a new ipod. Thanks so much for the help.
