Unbreakable word with special characters

I'm trying to stop Pages '08 from breaking a word.

The word: "PDF/A"

The Problem: sometimes it breaks the word on the slash at the end of a line as in, "PDF/
A"

Is there a way to set an option for a piece of text so that it never split? I've found "never hyphenate" but that does not work for this example.

Many thanks,

Pat

Hello

As far as I know, there is no soluce because the slash is treated as a word separator.

My own tip is to replace the standard slash by the FRACTION SLASH (unicode 2044).

PDF/A (standard slash) PDF ⁄ A (fraction slash)

The rendering is awful in this forum (I added spaces) but in Pages it's OK.

Hello

You met a feature available in all Apple applications. The slash is treated as a word separator as well as space, comma, period …

Non Apple products may behave differently. neoOffice iand openOffice are two of them.

You may report, it costs nothing, but I doubt that Apple changes such a feature which is present in its text_edit core code.
