Second Display won't change/detect resolution

I rebooted my computer this morning, and on my second display I get the following error:

2: Digital Input
Cannot Display This Video Mode
Optimum resolution 1280x1024 60hz

I've unplugged the monitor. And replugged. 5x or more. Nothing happens.
I've gone into System Preferences, and tried to change the resolution. Nothing happened.
I've tried hitting the Detect Display button. Nothing happens.
I've tried resetting my PRAM and NVRAM. Nothing happens.
I've tried taking out my battery and rebooting. Nothing happens.
I've tried plugging in two different monitors. Nothing happens.

Anyone have ANY IDEA what I can do? This is driving me nuts.

When I hit the SPACES button, the second display shows up in the little profiles, but on the monitor itself, the same error message continues to just glare at me. Never changing, no matter what I do.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.2)
