upgrading ibook g3

Hi!! =)

I have a orange ibook g3( i think thats the model), my father bought it when it first came out(2000). it's hasent been upgraded or anything like that.

I was wondering where can i upgraded to the latest mac operating system and upgrade it's HD and ram. and how much would it cost and is it worth it?

ibook g3, Mac OS 8.6 or Earlier

You can max out the RAM by installing a single 512 MB PC100 SO-DIMM. This is very easy to do by simply removing the keyboard. Current RAM prices from Mac knowledgeable vendors can be found by visiting DealRam.com and/or RamSeeker.com.

You can replace the hard drive with a larger hard drive. This is a rather entailed procedure but can be done if you take your time and are careful.

You can find the instructions for replacing these parts on iFixit.com

The last OS supported on that iBook is OS 10.3.9.
