very slow delivery to the user accounts

Hello,

my Mac OS X 10.4.11 Server received tausends (over 11000) of stored mails from the ISP. In Server Admins Mail-Waitinglist are always still more than 3000 mails waiting for delivery. The delivery of 8000 mails to the imap accounts took more than 48 hours. I unchecked the Filter settings, but that doesn't gave more speed. Is this normal or is anything wrong?

In the meantime I could fix the problem. So many mails to deliver takes its time, but I could reduce the delivery time by setting the postfix delivery rates down.
The hardware equipment for the mail server is a G4 with a 1 GHz CPU card, 1 GB RAM, two 250 GB HDD's and Mac OS X 10.4.11 Server. I think this would be performance enough for a mail server, isn't it?
An other problem occured while setting the Fetchmail Mail Retrieval to 'no' for 'Leave messages on server?'. In this setting mails would be delivered without content and attachments. If changing the setting to 'yes' mails will delivered complete. Any ideas about this issue?
