Claris Emailer or other good full up email program that works with 7.6.1 ?

Hello,
I'm trying to configure a good full up email program on my powerbook 180c.
As a second hand machine, an email program Eudora 3.1.3 light came on it. I've exercised it some, but it appears NOT to handle HTML, or even BOLD and Font size changes other than Global. However, my gut says that I may still be missing a plug-in there or something. I've searched and read as much as I can on Eudora, and can't resolve whether I'm missing something in my reading and/or something in my version. (I've seen the Sponsored, Paid, and Light writings, but they are unclear in those arenas.

Changing subjects, Does anyone know if Claris Emailer did HTML? and if so, is that program available anywhere? I have a Claris Emailer Light, but can't find out much about it. This is not just a vintage machine "hobby", I use the 68k machine as my primary computer. Any detailed help and/or leads on either option (or another EXCEPT Outlook Express) would be appreciated.

I HAVE been able to do limited browsing even to a Download Site with an Older iCab on this 68k maching - suprisingly so. Thanks

PowerBook 180c, Duo Dock 2300c, Performa 6214CD, Mac OS 8.6 or Earlier

Hi Netscapeconfused! Welcome to the Apple Forums!

Some of these older forums have "composite" listings, combining several related forums into one listing. The composite never has a "post a new topic" button. That is only available when you get to an individual forum. The top-level Mac OS 9 forum is a composite of the "Using" and "Installing" forums, and does not have a post a new topic button.

If you are running Mac OS 9, and do not have a Hardware-specific problem, you should post in the "Using Mac OS 9" forum. Just click this link:

Claris Emailer does not render HTML, which is many respects is an advantage, as it weeds out easily spam emails as they sit there as html attachments obviously. Not having the program render the html is not a big problem either, as one's browser or other designated reader program can open any html programs in which one is interested or one can use one of the available Emailer Apple Scripts which render the html into Emailer.

Claris Emailer is still a great program, but it does have to run on the classic MacOS (9.2.2 or earlier) or under Classic on OS X, which means Tiger or earlier (unless Classic still runs on Leopard, which I think I heard it does not). There is an active and good forum for resolving Claris Emailer issues, including how to get a copy of the program. Send an email with "Subscribe" in the Subject field to: <emailer-talk-request@eskimo.com>, or to get a daily digest, to <emailer-digest-request@eskimo.com>.
